Just as riding season starts to shift into high gear motorcycle enthusiasts will have a new gadget to make road trips easier to plan.
The highly-anticipated Garmin Zumo 660 will begin shipping at the end of April, an all-purpose motorcycle navigator already at the top of most riders wish lists.
Boasting slim body design, wide screen, advanced Junction and 3D building views, and a host of other "under the hood" improvements over its predecessor, the top-selling motorcycle GPS unit, the Garmin Zumo 550 the new model is promised as glove-friendly. Featuring a bright 4.3” touchscreen color display, the wide sunlight-readable screen makes for easy navigation and with a rugged waterproof case that resists fuel sprays and UV rays, the zumo 660 was built for life on the road.
Because riders should be spending more time looking at the road and not a GPS, Bluetooth connectivity allows users to receive spoken GPS directions directly through their headsets. For the times a biker can glance down large icons and an innovative, large-format keyboard on the touchscreen let riders type in destinations without removing gloves.
Coming with multiple mounting options, the units will come packaged with a handlebar assembly and a suction cup mount. Garmin will also be including a DVD copy of the North American mapping software that comes preloaded on the Zumo 660, allowing users to pre-plan routes and upload them directly.
Choosing the preferred road systems as well as selecting stops along the way for sightseeing, fuel, lodging, and more from the comfort of a home computer means riders get the most out of every ride.
The Garmin Zumo 660 will begin shipping at the end of April and are expected to retail for under eight hundred dollars.
