Washington Post, (12/27/09) - Salesmen for medical device manufacturers are more and more common in operating rooms, although patients may never know they were there. Often the salesmen have been working with the doctor for some time, convincing the doctor of the value of their company's device and providing training in how to use it. When it comes to the surgery, it may be the salesman who is calling the shots and telling the surgeon what to do.
