What will I be paid while I am off work?

A: If the authorized physician says you are unable to return work, you are entitled to draw partial pay while you are off work. This partial pay is called "Temporary total disability"  and covers the period from the time of your injury until the doctor thinks you are able to return to work, or have reached the end of your treatment and have reached maximum medical improvement. The amount you are paid for  "temporary total disability" is equal to 2/3rds of your average weekly wage, but that amount is subject to a maximum figure set by Tennessee Workers’ Compensation Law.
