What if the family member who has been lost was elderly person with no income, or a child? Will there still be a case?

A: Yes. Calculating damages will be different than a case with someone who is a wage earner, but there are two points that should not be minimized. First, the elderly and children DO contribute to their families in ways that can be measured economically even if they don’t draw paychecks. Second, in our view, our older family members and children lives have great value and we approach every wrongful death case with that view, emphasizing their importance and value to the lives they affected.
