Bad Guy in Nashville Car Accident gets off easy

One of the frustrating parts of Tennessee Auto Accident law is having a case where there is a real scumbag on the other side, but the economics of the case and the client's needs require a settlement. It's just a fact of life, sometimes clients need to settle and move on - no matter how p.o'd they may be at the other driver.

A recent case involving a Tennessee car accident is a good example. The defendant had been out all night, using drugs. He went out of control and ran our client off the road - in a school zone.

The client's vehicle rolled and was heavily damaged as up you can see from this picture. The client had just dropped his young daughter at school. It would have been a catastrophe if she were still in the car.

Fortunately, the client recovered from his injuries but did the young drug head learn anything? My preference would have been to take the scumbag to trial, make him pay all his insurance money PLUS, and have a jury send a message that his conduct was inexcusable....and oh by the way, he had an excuse - he was taking cocaine because he couldn't sleep. LOL
